I decided to paint our two dogs!  This is Milo (the blonde Pekingese) and Penny (the orange Peke-a-Pom).  They're the best of friends and bring us so much joy!

Portrait of Tucker Hipps

 I was honored to be asked to do a portrait of this handsome young man, Tucker Hipps, who was tragically killed during a fraternity hazing incident.  His mother wanted it as a gift for his father on Father's Day.  It's a large piece, and we worked with the colors in her room to make sure it will look good over the fireplace.  It was such a pleasure to be able to do a piece like this for these parents to remember their son by.  As you can see, Dad was thrilled!

A Boy and His Dog

For this colored pencil drawing, we didn't like the dog's face in the original photo, so I used the face from another similar shot.  I also took out the busy-ness of the background and the logo on the shirt to create a simpler, more timeless piece.

Seventy-Fifth Birthday Gift

My mother turned seventy-five recently, and I wanted a special gift for her.  I decided to do a colored pencil drawing of her and her parents from when she was a girl. She was very happy with it, and it's now displayed in a place of honor at her house!

A Couple of Adorable Puppies!

I was so excited when I saw the photo of these two pups.  Look how adorable!  The entire time I painted them, my kids were begging to take them home!  As you can see, I changed the angle a bit so that they fit the composition more nicely.
